The Grand Room; $140/night

the town below with the bluffs as a backdrop and the view north faces an historic

groups with the privacy of your own wing of the house to enjoy! The Double
Suite consists of 2 separate bedrooms connected with an adjoining door. Each
bedroom has a four poster bed and one room has sitting chairs and coffee table.
The two rooms share a connected bathroom with shower and hairdryer as well
as a full size washer and dryer for exclusive use of Double Suite guests.
One bedroom faces an historic rock building with views of the woods and Mt.
Hosmer beyond while the other bedroom (and bathroom) offer views of the Mississippi
River in the distance and surrounding bluffs below.
The Thornton House Cottage

to reserve now. The Cottage is located one mile from Thornton House and
was built in 1872- the same year the railroad came to Lansing which also runs
along the riverfront. The Cottage offers fantastic main channel Mississippi
River views of all of the boating and tow barge traffic (and the occasional
sternwheeler) and accommodates up to four. It is equipped with a full kitchen
(bring your pots & pans), one bathroom with shower, dining room and 2
bedrooms. The upstairs riverview bedroom contains a full bed and also has
a club chair and ottoman for reading and relaxing. Adjoining the upstairs
bedroom is the upper deck (8'x17') which is equipped with 4 chairs and a table
and offers privacy as well as fantastic riverviews. The downstairs bedroom
contains a queen size bed with gas fireplace and also has a TV with DVD &
cable and a full size sofa. This bedroom also offers riverviews and adjoins
the front porch which has 2 wicker chairs and bench seating for another 2
people. The Cottage is equipped with cable TV with DVD, plates, glasses, cutlery
for 4, a coffee maker as well as a stove and microwave. We'll supply the bathroom
amenity basket, coffee, creamer and orange juice as well as breakfast cinnamon
rolls! (Pick up the keys at Thornton House unless other arrangements are made.
The Cottage parking is in the rear and can accommodate 2 cars. The Cottage
does not offer internet). If you would like to join in for breakfast at the
main house (no charge) please call and if there is room at the table, we would
be glad to have you!
